Immensely popular police sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine had a great host of memorable characters. Led by charismatic goofball Jake Peralta, the 99th precinct was home to some top tier detectives as well as endless hilarity. The series' eight-season run took the squad through various levels of crime, tackling some heavy and darker themes throughout while maintaining tasteful humour.
The leader of the squad, Captain Raymond Holt, is a fan-favourite on the show. From his first moments in the pilot episode to every single subtle remark he makes, Holt never fails to entertain. His composed, robot-like demeanour lends itself nicely to all sorts of jokes and situations, as well as some great character development with Jake - his polar opposite.
As the show progressed and the relationship grew and developed, the spark of friendship between the two lead characters became a character by itself, with entire episodes being dedicated to just Jake and Holt stuck somewhere together.
