Jake decided to become a police officer after becoming obsessed with Die Hard. Though his mother is convicted that he got so good at protecting her as a kid that he decided to keep everyone else safe.

Being a cop for Jake is the greatest job of all, he wants nothing more than to be in the thick of the danger. He loved being undercover in the mob and can't help but create codenames for himself at any opportunity.

Although Jake might look like he's all about "playing" at being a cop, he takes his responsibilities seriously. He's there for his squad whenever they need him, even wanting to run into an active shooting situation to help Rosa.
