Buffy The Vampire Slayer: 10 Best Characters Who Only Appear In One Episode

9. Ken (Season 3, Episode 1)

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Hush
20th Century Fox Television

The start of Season 3 is a dark time for the Slayer. After leaving Sunnydale at the end of the previous season, she gets a job as a waitress at Helen’s Kitchen in Los Angeles.

But Buffy’s mundane job isn’t the only problem. When people start disappearing off the streets of the city, Buffy suspects foul play, and her investigations lead her to Family Home, a homeless shelter that tricks vulnerable people into becoming slaves for the rest of their lives.

Ken is a key part of this evil scheme. After disguising himself as a human, he approaches people and invites them to visit the shelter. It’s Ken’s ability to manipulate the vulnerable that makes him such a memorable villain. He delivers his lines in a kind, fatherly voice that’s particularly creepy when you re-watch the episode knowing his true intentions.

Though it would have been cool to see more of Ken, watching Buffy put a bludgeon through his face is a great moment.
