Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
2. Buffy Summers
Buffy Summers. The Slayer. The Chosen One. She Who Hangs Out In Cemeteries. The Thing Monsters Have Nightmares About.
Call her what you will, Buffy remains one of the greatest pop culture heroines of all time, a seemingly normal high schooler who loves hanging out with friends, dating, and looking her best, but spends her nights fighting the forces of darkness, thwarting various end-of-the-world catastrophes, and trying to keep her loved ones out of harm's way.
Buffy was ultimately a great character because of how relatable she was outside of her destiny as the Vampire Slayer. She was awkward, goofy and just as flawed as those around her despite her higher calling. She was also close to unbeatable, able to adapt in a fight and willing to sacrifice herself to stop evil from winning - something she actually did, twice.
To say Buffy went through a lot on the show would be a mighty understatement (she died twice, killed her murderous boyfriend, lost her mother, had three ill-fated relationships, learned her sister wasn't real and much, much more), but she was always the toughest person around, and even in her worst moments was a character unlike any other.
Buffy Summers. She saved the world. A lot.
