Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
12. Daniel "Oz" Osbourne
Much like Cordelia Chase, Oz was an invaluable part of Buffy's early years, acting as Willow's first major love interest, as well as an unsuspecting werewolf whose secret curse brilliantly expanded upon the show's mythology.
Known for his monosyllabic talking style, quick wit and level-headed approach to life, Oz was a guitarist, a brilliant but lazy student, and a good friend to the gang he steadily integrated himself into from the end of season two.
The best thing about Oz, though, was his relationship with Willow, which was presented as a sweet high school romance and one of the most functional relationships in the entire series. His struggle to control his werewolf side was also incredibly compelling, if slightly underused.
All told, Oz was a funny, impossible-to-hate sidekick, a calming addition to the core gang and just an all-round cool guy, even if his development was so flat and narrative importance so thin that it caused Seth Green to tragically leave the show during the fourth season.
