Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best
9. Anya Jenkins
Like several of Buffy's leading characters, Anya Jenkins was a one-time antagonist who shed her evil ways to become one of the series' defining heroes.
As a vengeance demon, Anya offered up one of the show's best episodes in the what-if brilliance of The Wish, and following her defeat was left powerless and trapped in Sunnydale as a bitter and confused human.
Despite her natural hostility to men, she soon started a relationship with Xander and began to integrate herself into the world she had long hated. Unfortunately, her social skills were somewhat lacking, making her an incredibly immature, deliriously funny character who always spoke her mind and alienated those around her.
These flaws, mixed with her striking development from villain to selfless hero who struggled with the concept of human emotion (remember her speech after Joyce's death?), made Anya a blast to watch throughout her stay on the show, and allowed her blink-and-you'll-miss-it death in the finale to pack a massive punch few fans are really over.
