Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Every Character Ranked Worst To Best

7. Xander Harris

Buffy Angel Spike Featured
Mutant Enemy

Xander Harris was the only character to remain a part of the Scooby Gang throughout the entirety of the show. He was also one of the very few human characters to populate the series, constantly surrounding himself with all-powerful demons, werewolves, Slayers and witches.

As one of the only members of the gang without any powers, Xander's best qualities came from his loyalty and willingness to put himself in danger - whether for his friends, or because he hated being left out of the action, it didn't really matter.

He had moments where he could come across unnecessarily cruel when confronting his friends about their life decisions, and leaving Anya at the altar was far from his finest hour, but thanks to his sadly human flaws, intense lifestyle and endless witticisms, he remained a character everyone at home could find relatable or at the very least understand.

As with those around him, Xander was put through the wringer, but was always the heart and soul of the show, coming through for his friends in the big moments and saving the world on more than one occasion. Without him, everyone would have been lost.
