Buffy the Vampire Slayer isn't just a show about vampires. Over the course of seven seasons, Buffy has to battle all manner of villainous foes, including robots, werewolves, ghosts, and witches. She certainly faces vampires however, more than any other type of demon. Indeed, Buffy's patrol duty is a recurring aspect of the show – in most episodes, she will encounter a vampire at some point.
The best vampires, however, are those who are given more screen time. Darla and the Master prove to be a pretty frightening combo in the first season and Buffy meets plenty of other wicked vampires throughout her adventures. Angelus, Spike, and Drusilla, for instance, are a key part of why season twos arc is so satisfying. The three of them are amongst the best villains in the entire show.
Bringing Spike back in season four was a genius move from the writers. This witty, morally complex vampire never fails to be entertaining. His character development is a joy to watch and no other character has such a fascinating journey. But just how much can you remember about the vampires of Sunnydale?
