Buffy the Vampire Slayer has many commendable attributes, including its unique premise and snappy dialogue. But – like all great stories – the central characters are fundamental to the show’s long-lasting appeal.
Buffy, Willow, and Xander are an unconventional trio, who are united by their determination to fight against the forces of evil. Throughout the shows seven seasons, they face an array of villains and save each other’s skins on multiple occasions.
However, these three characters don’t always get along. Buffy’s burden as the Slayer makes her feel isolated, and she often shuts out her friends. Willow, meanwhile, is definitely the kindest of the three, but her growing confidence has terrifying consequences, particularly in season 6. As for Xander, he also has his own insecurities, yet he can always be relied upon to deliver some great comedy.
