Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Ranking Every Major Death Worst To Best

When all is said and done, it is the death of reformed vampire Spike that takes the cake as the best death in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

The entirety of Season Seven is focused on Spike and his new life as a vampire with a soul. Over the season, he loses his mind, is brainwashed by the First Evil, is forced to relive his harshest memories, and proves to Buffy that he is a good man, coming to her aid just when she needed him.

At the Battle of the Hellmouth, Spike is chosen to wear the Amulet left by Angel, which was to be worn in the final fight by a champion - a vampire with a soul.

As the battle rages, Spike finds his soul powering the Amulet to destroy the First Evil's armies, allowing Buffy and the others to make a daring escape. Buffy tells him she loves him, and Spike stays behind to finish off the bad guys, becoming the hero he was always meant to be in process.

It really doesn't get any better than that.
