How much do you remember about Buffy's "anti-Angel" rebound?
Riley Finn never did quite get over with fans of Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Creator Joss Whedon introduced him around the halfway point of the show’s groundbreaking run, with Riley essentially being the “Captain America” super soldier type of the Scooby gang.
He was charming, pure and initially had no hints at the dark sider side that would usually be a huge part of the love interests that came into Buffy’s life, essentially being the Anti-Angel boyfriend. In fact, the actor Christian Kane, who went on to win the role of Lindsey McDonald in Angel, felt he was turned down for the Riley Finn part because his audition was "perhaps a little less than wholesome," and he didn’t fit the good natured hero that Whedon had in mind.
Although Riley Finn did eventually show other sides to his character, a lot of fans had already given up on the character by that point and he was written out of the show soon after.
