On paper, Anya Jenkins is every man’s worst nightmare. An over a thousand years old Vengeance demon named Anyanka, she would punish any man who had wronged the wishes of the female race. Or in other words, if you were stupid enough to cheat on your wife or girlfriend then Anya would appear and cause havoc in your life and probably put you off from ever trying any kind of relationship ever again.
However, once we got to see the human side of Anya, we couldn’t help but fall in love with this creature trying to find her place in the modern world. And neither could Xander Harris, the love between these pair perhaps being the defining love saga of the whole Buffy The Vampire Slayer series. More authentic and long-lasting than Buffy and Angel or Spike and Drusilla.
