Buffy the Vampire Slayer first appeared back in 1997. Thanks to the unique premise and the strength of the writing, the show proved to be a hit and ran for a total of seven seasons.
However, even the most dedicated Buffy fans have to admit the first season is rough around the edges. The monster-of-the-week formula starts to get a bit stale towards the end of that debut year thanks to a series of lacklustre villains and a predictable story structure.
Having said that, this opening season still has plenty of nostalgic charm. Watching our main characters’ innocent beginnings is particularly fun once you know how the show ends, and there are of course some decent episodes in here, too. ‘Angel’, ‘Nightmares’, and ‘Prophecy Girl’ are the obvious standouts, but the first two episodes are also fun to experience.
For this quiz, you’ll have to recall the details of Buffy’s first season and remember key bits of information from all 12 episodes. Whilst the opening questions are very easy, the quiz gets progressively harder as it goes on - so even if you’re a diehard Buffy fan, getting 100% will not be easy.
