Charlie Sheen Likely To Topline Channel 5's UK CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER

Former Two and a Half Men actor offered £6 million to star in the newly revamped and relaunched reality t.v. series that debuts on Channel 5 later this month with a new celebrity version.

British newspapers are claiming that Charlie Sheen is the first major star to sign up to the newly revamped Celebrity Big Brother that will be relaunched at it's new home on Channel 5 later this month. Although Channel 5 are refusing to confirm the deal, the capture of the actor seems likely and perhaps gives the new version of BB some credibility that the channel can attract the big names as the media's take on their acquisition of Endemol's reality t.v. series has so far been one of 'who cares?'. The former Two and a Half Men actor was of course fired earlier this year from his £1.2 million per episode deal following a feud with creator Chuck Lorre and his unprofessional behaviour and revelations about his cocaine abuse & sexual deviances came to light. Channel 5 long ago saw Sheen as the controversial figure that would topline their new series and lead to huge opening night ratings and have reportedly offered him £6 million for the two week stint, of which he could end up only having to appear on t.v. for a few days if he gets voted off first. Not bad cash for simply being yourself and at the same time self-promoting your own image. Every newspaper seems to have a different rumoured wishlist but so far the regular names appearing linked with new show seem to be Ricky Hatton, The Only Way is Essex's Amy Childs, Snoop Dogg and Kerry Katrona. Basically anyone who A) is need of money as their public image has taken a tumble or B) people who don't have long shelf lives in the media and wish to exploit their 5 minutes of fame whilst they can. Channel 5 however have responded to all rumours with;
"Big Brother execs are in talks with a number of celebrities about appearing on the series, but we're not confirming any names at the moment."
