The Charlie Sheen/Chuck Lorre Debacle: How It Ended For Everyone

The Remaining Stars: Ashton Kutcher And Jon Cryer

313 Before we conclude, let's talk about the main stars of 2.5 Men 2.0. "I can't replace Charlie Sheen but I'm going to work my ass off to entertain the hell out of people!" This was Ashton Kutcher's remark, and it's true. He didn't necessarily achieve his desired result but it is true. These two actors really are trying in their respective roles, and Kutcher's portrayal not as Walden Schmidt, but as alias Sam Wilson during a season 10 story arc wherein billionaire Walden Schmidt becomes tired of women liking him entirely for his money, and becomes the poor man by the name of Sam Wilson, who develops a relationship with fashion designer Kate (Brooke D'Orsay). This storyline was the needle in the haystack of good storylines. Especially with episodes being set around Christmas and heavily advertising the Christmas spirit and hope in general, this is something that made long-term fans rejoice. Sadly, the arc came to a tragic end after all of five episodes with Kate. By tragic end, we mean REALLY bad musical number. Seriously, the less said about it the better. The song basically bitch-slapped you back into the reality that this is a show way past it's prime. On the other hand, Jon Cryer actually won the Emmy in 2012 for Best Lead Actor In A Comedy Series, which was during the worst season yet, so it was clearly done purely out of sympathy for Cryer. You know what? Despite him appearing in Superman IV, I like this man as an actor. He seems like he's always trying no matter the quality (he was one of the only parts of Superman IV I liked, albeit only because I was laughing at what a bad part he had, something which I feel he knew as well). In fact, it seems that he's only staying on the show because somebody needs to hold the fort, or to mix a metaphor, go nobly down with the sinking ship. Even some of his Tweets advertising the latest episode seem kind of passive aggressive lately, such as the one pictured below. 44 In conclusion, the majority of these actors have a career too large to be tarnished by something that was frankly just a foolish couple of quotes by a drug-addled star. Most of the actors have (at the very least) tried to move on to other things, some of whom have succeeded, some of whom have not. The whole reason we are still hearing news about this incident is because the actors are continually moving onward and upward. These people's careers were too big to be affected by even such a sizable incident, so they will (mostly) live on in their respected qualities. Although, maybe the feud may come to an end, after this Tweet by Sheen, alongside a picture of Two And A Half Men's 2007 People's Choice Award for Best Comedy: 45 As we all know, however, Charlie Sheen is, by definition, WINNING.
