Community: 10 Best Characters Who Appeared After Season One

9. "Professor Roger De Salvo"

Matt Berry's mysterious professor of grifting cracks the top ten of this list despite only appearing in one episode. He makes his debut in Season 6's Grifting 101, one of the final episodes of Community.

This professor, going under the (almost certainly fake) name Roger De Salvo, teaches a grifting course that is clearly a grift itself. He quickly becomes enemies with Jeff, as he's insulted at Jeff's belief that grifting is no serious art form. Jeff tries to outgrift De Salvo, and the episode ends when the study group finally forces him to say those three magical words, "I was grifted."

De Salvo's appearance with only a handful of episodes to go proves that Community was still able to introduce exciting new characters even as the series was wrapping up. At that point, three of the series leads, Pierce, Troy and Shirley, had long since left the show. Though they are severely missed towards the end, fresh characters like "De Salvo" help to keep the show interesting without its original scene stealers.
