Pierce Hawthorne was the oldest student of the Greendale Community College having initially enrolled all the way back in the 90s in an effort to broaden his horizons. Being under no pressure to work because of the success he had enjoyed running the towelette company Hawthorne Wipes that his father had formed many decades earlier, Pierce spent his advancing years trying to escape his loneliness by filling his life with hobbies and studying, before finally graduating in 2013.
And what a sad moment it was when the actor who portrayed him, Chevy Chase, shockingly left Community towards the end of Season four, which ended Pierce’s hilarious time with his fellow students. The show lost a bit of its magic when Chase exited and it was never quite the same was it?
