The best character introductions are the subtle ones; the ones that simply hint at the character; the ones that exist only to build excitement. In short, the best introduction for Spider-Man wouldn't actually involve Spider-Man. Daredevil, perched atop a building and tuning in to the city's activities, picks up on something amiss. He hears unfamiliar sounds and senses abnormal movement patterns. He increases his pace to the location, continuing to soak in the odd noises from the skirmish. In a moment before Murdock arrives on the scene, there is one final "THWIP!" before all noise ceases. As he examines the scene, there is a palpable sense of confusion as he discovers the offenders are all hanging upside down from the street lamps...from webs.
