What's kind of surprising is how much money is clearly being spent on Daredevil. Not only the calibre of actor they have starring Deborah Ann Woll was a True Blood regular, and D'Onofrio is a legit movie star but also in the money being spent on all parts of the production. It's surprising because this is a streaming service, and it looks like they have more of a budget to offer than Marvel's other TV series. You know, the ones that air on actual television. But nope, it seems that Netflix really does have more to play with than ABC. Agents Of SHIELD and Agent Carter have their fans (sadly not enough to really justify their continued existence) (mainly sad in the latter's case, the former is getting another inexplicable spin-off), but one of the many problems each of them has is they look really, really cheap. Part of that's just in comparison to the multi-million dollar movies they're sharing a fictional universe with, and part of it is because...they are pretty cheap-looking. Daredevil, meanwhile, is a thirteen-episode series that could easily stand up to the look of the film. It's helped that the street level setting doesn't require as many special effects, but in that case, it's a matter of knowing its limits. An awareness which Carter and SHIELD lack.
