7. What Happened In Kandahar?

In the final few episodes, Frank Castle's origin story gets unnecessarily complicated when a police sting, a mysterious big bad known only as "The Blacksmith", and his old military buddies are thrown into the mix. All of this was no doubt included around the time Netflix decided they wanted a spinoff revolving around The Punisher, and it's clear that this mystery is going to serve as the basis for that yet to be officially confirmed series. However, along with that hidden "Micro" CD, one of the biggest unresolved plot threads here was Clancy Brown's Colonel insinuation that something Frank did in Kandahar led to the murder of his family. The Blacksmith setting up that meeting in Central Park in the hope Frank's family would be caught in the crossfire is a real stretch, but if that is indeed what the show is trying to tell us, The Punisher's spinoff needs to clear things up.
