Daredevil Season 3: 10 Things You Need To Know About Bullseye
4. He Was Briefly An Evil Hawkeye
In a later incarnation of the character, Bullseye's talents were used by Tony Stark of all people in the Thunderbolts team, where he was charged with assisting in the crackdown of anti-registration superheroes during the Civil War story line. This was one of many bad decisions the not-so-clean-cut comic book Iron Man was making during the Civil War run.
When the organisation was taken over by newly reformed and publically revered Spiderman villain, Norman Osborn, Bullseye won favour for his general dastardliness, and gained a place in the newly created Dark Avengers. The Dark Avengers were a kind of S.H.I.E.L.D. sanctioned riot squad, not dissimilar to the Suicide Squad. Although Bullseye was endlessly the most troublesome member.
It was obvious which mantle the world's most evil marksman was going to take on, adopting the garb of Hawkeye and taking on the role rather efficiently. This villainous subversion of The Avengers even took the fight to Asgard which, let's face it, was never going to end well. The invasion ended in an all round defeat, with Bullseye eventually losing his Hawkeye mantle back to it's rightful owner, Clint Barton himself.
