Daredevil Season 3: 9 Reasons To Be Excited

9. Fisk's Return

Wilson Fisk
Netflix

Although Charlie Cox has absolutely nailed his role as the titular character, there's no denying just how integral Vincent D'Onofrio's portrayal of Wilson Fisk - aka The Kingpin - was in making Daredevil season 1 must-watch TV. Hell, even when he was in jail his presence was still felt, and his short stint in season 2 always resulted in a highlight.

Fortunately, the villain is set to return substantially in the upcoming string of episodes, reinstated as the primary antagonist. Even better, the rumours suggest the focus will be on Fisk finding out Daredevil's true identity, allowing him to torment the hero in even more personal ways than ever before.

Even away from the meat and bones of the storyline, though, Fisk's return also indicates that the tone of the upcoming season will err closer to that of the original, rather than the supernatural leanings of the second. Daredevil is at its best when it's grounded and focused on a clear villain (just see the strength of The Punisher arc for proof), a dynamic which should be carried over to the new episodes.
