4. Larger Connections To The MCU

Although the first season of every Netflix Marvel show made a point to tie into the MCU, those connections have been relatively downplayed ever since. Even when events from the movies or characters were mentioned, they often revolved around the "Battle of New York", and so far none of the shows have kept up with the movies in the same way as, say, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

However, it has been rumoured that the latest season will take place around the same time as Captain America: Civil War, meaning there's plenty of new developments that could come into play.

Charlie Cox has repeatedly stated in interviews how cool it would be for Daredevil to share the screen with Spider-Man, and while that would probably cause a legal headache of untold proportions, references to the crimefighter could make their way into the show, especially considering the Web Head has more in common with The Defenders than The Avengers.

The most important development, though, could be the introduction of the Sokovia Accords. While The Avengers battled over the idea on philosophical grounds, all of the Defenders have something to lose when it comes to the treaty, as their secret identities would be more easily compromised.
