DC's Legends Of Tomorrow: 10 Big Questions We're Asking After Pilot Part 2
3. How Can They Improve Vandal Savage?
The appearance of Damien Darhk was fun, but at the same time it just put into a starker contrast how poor Vandal Savage is. The performance of Casper Crump is really unconvincing, without menace or charisma, both things Neal McDonough's Darhk has in spades. It's probably a combination of writing and performance, but whatever the reason, something needs to change. This guy is meant to be the baddest of the biggest and the biggest of the baddest, but really he just feels like a recurring villain you'd get across a few episodes, rather than one to anchor an entire season. He's the reason this team is together, he's just killed a guy, but still the feeling is 'meh'. Hopefully that will improve soon, because for all the fun of the show, it's not going to last without a strong showing from its villain.
NCTJ-qualified journalist. Most definitely not a racing driver. Drink too much tea; eat too much peanut butter; watch too much TV. Sadly only the latter paying off so far.
A mix of wise-old man in a young man's body with a child-like wonder about him and a great otherworldly sensibility.
