Deathstroke: Knight & Dragons Review - 7 Ups & 1 Down From The Series Premiere
7. The Episode Length
When it comes to CW Seed's animated series - especially those with remote links to the Arrowverse - they often have a relatively limited run-time, with each episode running between five and seven minutes so that they can eventually be melded together into one big animated film. It's nice in theory and certainly benefits the finished product, but when watching them weekly? Yeah, not so much.
Thankfully, this isn't an issue for Deathstroke: Knight and Dragons as the premiere episode runs for a healthy 38 minutes, almost putting it on par with The CW's usual 42-minute live-action superhero programming.
It goes without saying that this really benefits the pacing of the narrative and allows the writers to fully dive into Slade's rich origins immediately - while balancing that nicely with his killer present-day antics. And it reminds us all that animation is indeed capable of pulling off full-length offerings - and that in itself earns CW Seed a major pat on the back.
