5. There's A New Killer In Town
Every season of Dexter has its own big bad and it seems that they are already planting the seed for season 8's new enemy. When the new character of Dr. Vogel comes to town she is there to investigate a murder. She suggests that the killer is no amateur and is most likely a serial killer. The nature of the kill would suggest that she is correct. What we know so far is that for some reason this new killer enjoys carving off a section of the human skull in order to impact the brain. Every big bad from Dexter has their own signature and this seems to be one of the most interesting ones yet. Why is this killer so focused on the human brain? What does it mean? Since it's the last season that means the writers have one last chance to show us what they've got when it comes to creating one more great foe for Dexter. We have no idea at this point where this killer's storyline is going to lead but we're all hoping we will be presented with a big bad that can live up to the legacy of Trinity or The Ice Truck Killer.
