The Little Details You Never Noticed Before
Believe it or not, there might be things you've still missed, after watching Doctor Who eight times over. Well, there's probably not a lot actually, but here's our best attempt to show you things you haven't seen before. Spoilers! 20. The final scene between Rose and the Doctor in 'Doomsday' mirrors the final scene between them in 'The Christmas Invasion', as she asks him what he's going to do next and whether he'll be on his own. 19. Alexander Armstrong, the host of BBC quiz show Pointless, voices Mr Smith, Sarah Jane's computer, as well as appearing in 'The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe'. 18. 'The Angels Take Manhattan' was set in 1938, the year in which the Statue of Liberty was closed for renovation. 17. David Tennant's first episode, 'The Parting of the Ways', shares its name with the Harry Potter chapter in which Barty Crouch Jr dies. Tennant played Crouch in the films. 16. In 'The Night Of The Doctor', the Doctor quotes the Bible ("Physician, heal thyself"), before resurrecting in a cave, like Jesus. "Will it hurt?" is hopefully a reference to his next incarnation's actor.
15. During a scene in The Invasion when Zoe is making calculations in a control room, a soldier unsubtly checks out her behind. 14. Nicholas Courtney appeared in The Web of Fear as Captain Knight before he made his name as Brigadier Leftbridge-Stewart. 13. "Mister Saxon" is an anagram of "Master No. Six". The Saxon incarnation is the sixth version of the character. 12. "Nina" is a name mentioned three times since 'Closing Time'; in that episode, she was a contestant on Britain's Got Talent who poisoned another contestant, in 'Asylum of the Daleks', she was the first girl that Oswin fancied, and in 'The Bells of Saint John', she was Angie's friend. 11. "Skaro" is never mentioned in Dr Who. and the Daleks.
