Away From Who

Because believe it or not, there is a world away from Doctor Who. Okay, it's not as fun, but some of the people involved with the show have interesting hobbies and bizarre connections to things. Did you know for example that Matt Smith is the eleventh Matt Smith listed on IMDB? And that he had professional football trials? That's not all... 90. Matt Smith is a huge fan of Radiohead, and would be Thom Yorke if he could trade places with a rockstar. 89. Jon Pertwee had a tattoo from when he was in the Navy. It was explained in-show as a stamp from the Time Lords to represent his exile. 88. David Tennant's real name is David McDonald. He changed it to Tennant due to sharing his name with a fellow Scottish actor, and took his new name from Pet Shop Boys' Neil Tennant. 87. Russell T Davies had a replica Dalek before the show was revived. Steven Moffat canonised it by using it in his episode, 'Asylum Of The Daleks'. 86. Billie Piper has had onscreen kisses with both Ninth and Tenth Doctors, but also Matt Smith, who appeared in Secret Diary of a Call Girl.

84. Paul McGann's brother Mark McGann also auditioned for the role of the Eighth Doctor. 83. Christopher Eccleston's Ninth Doctor catchphrase "Fantastic" made it into his first episode in Heroes; he declared it upon meeting Peter Petrelli, who had absorbed his power to appear invisible. 82. Patrick Troughton's grandson, Harry Melling, is an actor too. He appears in the Harry Potter films as Dudley. 81. Fourth Doctor, Tom Baker, was briefly married to Romana actress, Lalla Ward. Ward is now married to Richard Dawkins, who's cameoed in 'The Stolen Earth' and been referenced in 'The Big Bang'.
