Doctor Who Series 9: Everything We Already Know So Far

From writers to directors, and guest stars to monsters: a who's who of Who.

Unfortunately we don't have access to the Time and Relative Dimension in Space machine, otherwise we could shoot forwards to September 19 for the start of the new series of Doctor Who (because what else would you do with the ability to travel anywhere across time and space?). Instead we're going to have to wait a little bit longer - just over a month as it stands - before we can get back to the adventures of Peter Capaldi's twelfth Doctor. The new man in the TARDIS had a solid debut year in 2014, steadily growing into the role the longer series 8 went on and assuaging any fears fans had over the casting of a Doctor very different to what we'd become accustomed to over the past decade. Now more comfortable in the role, there should be lot more confidence from all involved going forwards, meaning series 9 should be an improvement. Steven Moffat has been his usual tight-lipped self, not giving an awful lot away about what we can expect from the ninth outing of nuWho. While he clearly thrives on the mystery created, a few details have been released, such as who's writing, episode titles and more. This is the stuff that we know as fact, although given most of it came from the mouth of Moffat it could well be a pack of lies. Here's everything we (think) we known so far about Doctor Who series 9.
