Doctor Who: The Giggle Review - 8 Ups And 4 Downs

1. UP - Fifteen Is Fab

The final, and without a doubt biggest up of the episode goes to our incoming Fifteenth Doctor, Ncuti Gatwa, who hits the ground running in a way we’ve not seen since The Eleventh Hour, immediately settling straight into the role as if he’s been playing the character for years. Seriously, this man captivated us so much that there were moments we didn’t even notice that he did his entire first episode in his pants.

Fifteen, free from the baggage of his predecessors, looks to be an incredibly optimistic incarnation who finally has his life in order, is in touch with his emotions, and, arguably for the first time, truly wears his heart on his sleeve - the culmination of a sixty year journey. Most importantly, he’s just as sassy as we were hoping to be. Dare we say it, he might actually be ‘cool’.

This is the most excited we have ever been for the next Doctor’s run to begin, and if this brief tease is anything to go by, we’re in for a cracking few years. It’s early doors yet, but we have a really, really good feeling about this.
