Each Brooklyn Nine-Nine Lead Ranked From Worst To Best
1. Raymond Holt
The absolute highlight of the show, Holt never fails to get a laugh, and his comic reception is surprising considering his stoic manner.
Andre Braugher brings such class to the role of Raymond Holt. A character like this can often be portrayed as one-note and never featuring significant development. But thankfully for fans of the series Raymond challenges this. He is efficient and precise, which leads to many of the shows funniest moments. Also, his serious nature means that when the show has to tackle more significant issues, he is more than capable of feeling believable in them.
Raymond has changed a lot throughout the show, whilst barely moving his face whatsoever. In many scenarios, the comedy works around him with the uptight way he behaves being the source of the joke.
The structure of the show revolves around this character, and part of what makes it such a success is how well it achieves that. This is why Raymond Holt is easily the best character in the show.
