5. The BoJack Horseman Show
When BoJack became lazy, living an easy, stress-free life off the back of 'Horsin’ Around’s success even decades later, Princess Carolyn made it her mission as his agent to get him to work. This came in the form of 'Mitch’s Life', a genuinely great show from the mind of Cuddlywhiskers.
BoJack reluctantly signed on for the project after a meeting with the creator. They both wanted this to be something edgy and different, not the usual generic nonsense pumped out to appeal to the masses. When they received no notes from the network execs after their first table read however, BoJack decided it wasn’t edgy enough.
To quote BoJack, he and Cuddlywhiskers went back and ‘stuck their dicks in the script’, going completely overboard and dialling everything up to 10 and beyond. To show that this wasn’t just another 'Horsin’ Around', the very first scene of the retitled 'BoJack Horseman Show' was BoJack taking a dump on a 'Horsin’ Around' VHS.
Unsurprisingly, this show was not a success, and arguably contributed to BoJack’s life taking a very steep downturn. Emily was a huge fan of the show, but not because she enjoyed it. Instead she got a kick out of just how bad it was, and how anyone actually thought it worthy of going into production.
The fact that this lands in the middle of this shows just how bad BoJack's career was at times.
