Every Death In The Simpsons Ranked
18. Albert (Walking Big & Tall)
After Homer's weight gets him in trouble at a performance of Springfield's new town anthem, Marge begs him to join a weight loss group. However, as we saw with the "smoker" incident, Homer isn't very good at following instructions and ends up joining a group that embraces obesity instead. The group is run by Albert, a large man in a mobility scooter played by legendary voice actor Kevin Michael Richardson who actually became the new voice of Dr. Hibbert in 2021.
Albert encourages Homer to embrace his size and even gets him arrested when the group protest outside a clothes store. When confronted by a worried Marge, Albert attempts to prove that he doesn't need his scooter and stands up on his own. Sadly, this leads to Albert having a heart attack and dying - nice one ,Marge!
Albert's death is pretty much the end of the episode aside from his funeral which contained a few fat jokes and the shocking revelation that he was only 23-years-old, but at least his death proved a point and was actually used as a narrative device. Dying from standing up though? Hardly the most glamorous way to go.
