Every Dragon Ball Z Saga Ranked From Worst To Best

It did not, does not, nor will it ever, get any better than this.

With the stage finally set by the previous sagas, earth's best warriors come to a vacant arena where they give it all they got to defeat the biggest villain the series had ever known. Cell goes through fighter after fighter making it look hopelessly easy. He disposes of each challenger with all the ease and cockiness of the biggest man on a campus full of big men.

Even the Cell Juniors give the rest of the Z-fighters all they can handle. All seems hopeless until Gohan finally lets the rage get to him, and goes further than his father could, becoming super saiyan 2, complete with crackling lightning all around him.

He runs through the Juniors like a bull in the China shop, before smacking Cell so hard he downgrades. With Goku sacrificing himself in order to prevent Cell from destroying the earth in a self-destruction, everything looks just about in its right place.

Cell though comes back, making Goku's sacrifice for naught. He announces his return by killing Trunks, raising the stakes even higher. Gohan doesn't miss a beat and gets right back into the fight, going harder than ever, not letting the pain of his injuries slow him down. The battle culminates in the most epic beam-struggle in anime history before Gohan finally breaks through and secures world peace.

At that moment, Dragon Ball Z peaked.
