9. The Former Spider-Pig
When The Simpsons Movie was released in 2007, Harry Potter was around half way through the movie series, and enjoying incredible success. In fact, the movie version of the beloved cartoon hit the cinemas just weeks after the Order of the Phoenix, and made sure to reference the boy who lived.
When Homer brought home a pig to Marge, he famously called it Spider-Pig, a reference to the web slinger whose third movie directed by Sam Raimi had also come out just months before. Who doesn't remember Homer singing as he walked his new pet along the living room ceiling?
This apparently got boring quickly for the head of the Simpsons household, as he soon changed the name from Spider-Pig to Harry Plopper, giving the pig glasses and the trademark lightning bolt scar to complete the look.
