5. Bart Simpson
Bart is arguably the most iconic character in the Animation Domination lineup, likely generating the most TV shirt sales in his long run as America’s Bad Boy, but he has to settle for fifth here.
Just as there’s a clear difference between Meg and Gene, the gap between Louise and Bart is a pretty sizeable one too; any of the top five could have finished first, although the eventual winner did run away with it once everything was taken into account.
Bart is hilarious, makes up a key part of the show and, importantly for a show as long as The Simpsons, is far and away their best B-story star.
Recently though, partially because they’ve failed to replace Mrs. Krabappel and also due to Bart’s old-fashioned pranks not fitting a ten year old in 2019, he’s been tweaked.
He’s not always consistent episode to episode, but a good recent Bart episode is E-My Sports. Some (for once not dated) tech humour sees Bart become a professional e-sports star, bonding with Homer and finding purpose.
This episode though is ruined by (drumroll) Lisa, who forces her way into Bart’s trip, convinces Homer competing at anything is bad, and has the whole tournament shut down.
