Much like on the big-screen, superheroes are everywhere on TV at the moment.

Interestingly, though, here things have been flipped: if you want light, bright, and quippy, then you check out the DC shows, whereas it's Marvel delivering the dark and gritty drama.

That's a trend that's going to continue this year, with four new Marvel Cinematic Universe shows, and just one new entry from DC alongside the returning Arrowverse favourites (Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Gotham are already back from their winter break, and thus not on the list).

Throw into the mix a trippy new entry into the X-Men world (sort of), and while there may be a lot of superhero drama, it's all pretty exciting.

Major team-ups, shared universes, musical moments, and a royal family are all on their way in 2017 - but some are more exciting than others.

10. Legends Of Tomorrow - Season 2B

Despite its interesting premise - a bunch of Arrowverse heroes travel around time saving the world - Legends of Tomorrow hasn't quite taken off.

It's fun in parts, especially in the weird and wonderful character dynamics it creates between the would-be Legends, but it never feels like essential viewing.

Season 2 has expanded the mythos, with the Justice Society of America and, more excitingly, the Legion of Doom. Bringing together four great bad guys - Damien Darhk, Malcolm Merlyn, Eobard Thawne, and Captain Cold - they should help raise the stakes and provide added excitement in the back-half of Season 2.
