Falcon & The Winter Soldier: 10 Characters Who MUST Appear
2. Black Widow & The Red Room Assassins
The Soviet Union plays a huge role in Bucky's past as the Winter Soldier, and should the series really do that aforementioned deep dive into his history, it would be incredibly fitting to see one or more of the characters we've seen over the years who've come out of the Russian Red Room program.
There are a number of candidates, and any of them would be interesting choices for inclusion.
For instance, there's Dottie Underwood, who we last saw escape from Peggy Carter during Agent Carter's second season and whose place in the MCU's history remains a blank slate. We could see an adult version of Eva, the young girl who tangled with Peggy and the Howling Commandos when they came across the Red Room Academy. We could even see a younger Natasha Romanoff, if the powers that be were so inclined.
Even further, the arrival of the Black Widow film next May will introduce at least two more big time female assassins in the form of Rachel Weisz's Melina Vostokoff, who could easily have crossed paths or worked with Bucky in the past, and Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova.
Should the latter pick up the torch passed to her by Nat next year, a present day appearance by Yelena in the series - say, introduced to Sam and Bucky by Fury and Hill - would go a long way towards beginning to establish her relationships with other heroes ahead of her larger MCU future.
