Falcon And Winter Soldier - Everything You Need To Know About Zemo

In Captain America #431, the titular hero barged into Castle Zemo after hearing whispers that the baron had kidnapped dozens of children. When the superhero broke into the throne room, not only were the children willingly with Zemo, he revealed that he recently got married and showcased his new bride, Heike.

What makes this marriage so peculiar is that when Heike debuted as The Baronness in the one-shot issue, Spider-Man: Fear Itself, she claimed to be the reincarnation of Heinrich Zemo. If this is true, this means Helmut Zemo married his father... which is, well, take all the time you need to process that.

Although Heike recants this claim in Captain America #432, it's unclear whether she's telling the truth or not. But if she did make this story up, what's the point? Why would Zemo marry Heike after telling him she's been inhabited by the mind of his dear old dad?

What's more bizarre is nobody (including Zemo) points out how absurd this all is. Because Heike died off-panel soon after with little explanation, it's possible we will never get to the bottom of this mystery.
