Family Guy: 10 Best Moments

2. The Bank Vault

Brian&Stewie In season eight of the show, viewers are treated to a rare moment in the series - one of genuine affection and an episode that takes a detour from the usual cut-away gags featured in Family Guy for the first ever time. Critics of the show often complain that Family Guy sacrifices the progression of a narrative for off-the-wall cut-away gags to random moments, but in "Brian and Stewie", we get one continuous episode which makes for a refreshing change. Brian and Stewie find themselves locked in a bank vault after the door slams shut on a timer, meaning the duo are left with just each others company to pass the time of day. The plot thickens when Stewie claims he never really liked Brian, and befriended him "to make the most of a bad situation". However, when Stewie realises Brians intentions in coming to the bank, a close bond is forged and we are reminded of their close relationship when a particularly touching monologue by Stewie stops just shot of admitting his love for his friend.
