Family Guy: 10 Biggest Changes Made To The Show

1. Stewie's Homosexual Tendencies

Wouldn't you rather have world domination Stewie, instead of having him be animated television's longest running gay joke? Really, which is more humorous? A Stewie doggedly determined that "the Broccoli must die!" or the depressing adult version of Stewie who tried in vain to make love to a co-worker, only to have it end in his own tears? We covered the matricidal Stewie change earlier, but losing matricidal Stewie wasn't entirely the fault of "gay" Stewie. There are a ton of places the character could have gone. He could have remained hell-bent on world domination without trying to kill Lois. He still stuck to time travel whenever the show wanted to pull out that tired device after all. Instead, we got "it's shocking because the baby might be/is gay." The problem is, the gay Stewie bit has gotten tired - in fact it got tired a lot sooner than matricidal Stewie did. It stopped being funny ages ago. We're not even being politically correct here - it's rather hard to tow the line of political correctness when it comes to a show like Family Guy. Yet keeping the fact that Family Guy likes to go the shock humour route in mind, gay Stewie has run its course. However, has the show painted itself into a corner with the bit? You can't really go back on a character's sexuality without offending a large group of people, and it would be a cop-out. However, Stewie doesn't need to stop being gay (and yes, Seth MacFarlane has confirmed that he is in fact gay) - it just needs to stop being the joke. Find him something else funny to do. Anything. This change has just fallen flat over the years. Any changes you want to add? Add them below!
