Feedback: BOARDWALK EMPIRE On Sky Atlantic
It seemingly took forever but finally last night after a considerable marketing campaign, Sky Atlantic HD (basically a channel devoted to HBO) debuted in the U.K. with the premiere of Boardwalk Empire and the Martin Scorsese directed pilot (the most expensive in the history of television). Boardwalk has of course already completed it's first season run in the U.S. What was your thoughts on Episode 1 (I believe Episode 2 screens tonight)? I was caught up watching football last night so I've recorded it in the hope to watch it sometime this week. Overall, with sumptuous production design, movie quality camerawork, top quality actors, and succinct writing, Boardwalk Empire cant really fail and it doesnt. Its embracing a fantastic genre, takes place during a fascinating period of American history, and Im just very pleased to see HBO with an exciting new show on their hands. In recent years, cable rivals AMC and Showtime have arguably overtaken HBO, with Dexter, Mad Men and Breaking Bad receiving the bulk of critical acclaim, but Im sure this series will deliver...
