3. Badger Firefly Badger What else do you need in a space-western than a cockney moron? Badger (Mark Sheppard) is a scene stealer. Living on Persephone, he is a scheming 'businessman' (definitely a questionable term for him). Badger is distinctive, funny and witty yet underlined by a stupidity and misplaced belief that he is a man of upstanding class. His distinct cockney accent and a "very fine hat" are key to his character who is a comedic release in each scene he stars in. Created with the intention for Whedon to play him, Badger provides a variety of great lines evident of the shows commitment to humour. Screw just supporting characters, he's one of my favourite characters full-stop simply because of his playful exchanges with Mal which define one of the most outstanding relationships in the show. Although his appearances are brief, the impact he leaves as a character are vital to the episodes he appears in, and the fusion of comedy and drama lies in his lines make for some of the best lines in the entire series.
