Vivian Janet Hubert/Daphne Reid
The character of Vivian was replaced three seasons-in due to a salary dispute and subsequent tensions with lead-man Will Smith. The original Vivian played by Janet Hubert was a strange choice upon reflection, with her stern-faced, iron-fisted aesthetic giving way to a more natural fit for the mother of Hilary in the more similar-looking Daphne Reid. This heralded one of the best fourth-wall breaks in TV history, as character Jazz looked the new actor up and down, before exclaiming Theres something different about you, Aunt Viv. Hubert has made frequent appearances on The Bernie Mac Show and Gilmore Girls since, with an Easter Egg for GTA V fans being that her most recent work is the voice of Franklins layabout Aunt Denise from the early levels of the game.
As well as this she gave us one of the best scenes in the series, proving her age couldnt prevent her from dancing up a storm in a competition against many younger participants in season 2s The Big Four-Oh. Latter-Day-Vivian Daphne Reid on the other hand has been fairly active on many other much smaller television series, the most long-running being comedy Eve, all alongside becoming the head of New Millennium Studios in Virginia.
