Friday Night Lights Cast: Where Are They Now?
1. Kyle Chandler (Coach Taylor)
The de facto FNL star finally won an Emmy in the show’s final year, and has not been short of jobs since. Boasting a decent quality control, Chandler has picked up juicy supporting roles in prestige movies like Wolf Of Wall Street, Argo, and Manchester By The Sea.
Chandler primarily plays to the Coach Taylor type - more often than not he’s a morally upright and serious man’s man, the type you’d come to with a serious problem but would not want to muck about. He has had cause to circumvent his squeaky clean image in Games Night, a mediocre comedy in which he plays a fast talking (but good hearted) swindler.
His TV work has boasted more interesting finds, with Bloodline a dark crime drama giving the actor a chance to flex his muscles. Chandler drew great notices throughout its three years, though the overall quality dipped as it went on.
More interesting was the underrated adaptation of Catch-22, in which Chandler, uncommonly weasley as Colonel Cathcart, was one of the standouts.
