Episode: The One With Ross' Tan (S10E3)

Amanda Buffamonteezi (try saying that after a few drinks) is a larger-than-life character, even by Friends standards. Played by American Jennifer Coolidge, the actress adopted a highly exaggerated British accent for the role, creating a hilariously posh and stuck-up character who was extremely easy to laugh at without feeling mean for doing so.

When you consider how self-centred and ignorant Amanda actually is - all she does is talk about herself ("smell my neck!") and cut other people off mid-sentence - it's amazing that she's actually quite fun to watch. Coolidge is clearly having a blast - so much so that you can see Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow trying not to laugh during their scenes - and her bouncy spirit brings a welcome energy to the screen.

Amanda wasn't given much to do in the story department, merely serving as a plot device to split Monica and Phoebe up, and then bring them back together again. Still, she had some absolutely golden one-liners (like her remark about Chandler's looks), so her addition to the episode was well worth it.

He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
