Friends: Every Season Finale Ranked Worst To Best
6. The One With Monica And Chandler's Wedding (Season Seven)
The wedding of Monica and Chandler was one of Friends' stronger wedding episodes, helped by the tantalising development of their relationship from a one-off hook up in London to being the show's most stable relationship.
It was another two-part episode, allowing room for a bunch of subplots that were hilarious. Joey being spit on by Gary Oldman during a World War I movie shoot may sound like a dull subplot, but it was peak Friends comedy because of how the scene was acted out. On the other side of the spectrum, Rachel's positive pregnancy test being found and presumed to be Monica's brought some heartbreaking and believable scenes from Rachel. Friends no longer felt like a sitcom during these scenes, but rather a real-life situation. Props to Jennifer Aniston for her dedication to the character here.
As for the wedding itself, it suited both characters perfectly. Monica was ecstatic, wanting everything to go swimmingly, while Chandler - stemming from his own parents' failed marriage - has cold feet and runs off. Twice.
Once they officially became the Bings, though, it was touching. Their vows were heartfelt. It was as perfect a wedding as Friends' writers could have hoped for. They wrote the story immaculately.
