A whole 17 years after the show aired for the final ever time, Friends still remains to be a phenomenon of television. Few series have managed to amass the popularity or pierce the mainstream bubble of pop culture quite as well as this powerhouse sitcom show.

While Friends amassed a major fan base during its ten seasons, it’s arguably even more impressive that the series has continued to add and add and add to that fan base in the years since the show concluded in 2004.

One obvious key component of Friends, of course, was the six characters forever at the core of the series. From the writing of them, to the portrayal served up of them, the faces at the centre of Friends have long been cemented as some of the greatest characters in TV history.

Circling in on Matt LeBlanc’s Joey Tribbiani, Matthew Perry’s Chandler Bing and Lisa Kudrow’s Phoebe Buffay, these three characters could well be the most beloved Friends characters when it comes to purely bringing the chuckles to the table.
