If there was ever a seventh friend in Friends it was surely Janice Litman. The annoying on-off love interest to Chandler looked destined to eventually become Mrs. Bing for such a long time, until Monica Geller stole Chandler’s heart and Janice’s presence in the show would fade out from there.
Yes, the “Oh My God” moments would still continue after and Chandler really (as much as he tried) could not fully exist in life without Janice sticking her nose into his business from time to time, but given her amount of appearances in the early seasons she was definitely the unofficial 7th friend.
Gunther appeared in more episodes, Mike Hannigan actually managed to wed one of the Friends characters from outside of the friendship group and other characters would come and go but Janice was really the seventh Friend all in all.
