Futurama: 10 Most Paused Moments

1. Pop-Up Ads (A Bicyclops Built For Two)

Although we have already had a pausable moment from A Bicyclops Built For Two, this one is hands down number one because of some absolutely incredible foreshadowing about Leela's parents.

As I mentioned at entry number 4, the gang all embark on a virtual reality adventure into the world of the internet but as soon as they get there, they are faced with a barrage of pop up ads. This in itself is a worthy moment to hit the pause button (1:30 in the video) as it includes adverts for things such as: Information Superhighway- Howard Stern Rest Area, Steamy Presidential MP3s, Vomit, I can See Your Ass! Earth-viewed-in-space.web and Stalk Anybody!

But, in an episode about Leela's heritage, the most incredibly subtle bit of hidden foreshadowing about it comes at 2:06 in the video. As the gang walk through the adult website section, there is a neon sign of a tentacle and a girl with a pony tail. Sound familiar? Leela's mum had tentacles, and Leela is famous for her ponytail. Is this a stretch? Possibly, but considering the show's continuity I suspect that was put there on purpose.
